Ciklum is looking for a Commercial & Contracts Leader to support its growing professional services business.


You will provide commercial legal support for Ciklum, working across jurisdictions, primarily the UK, EU and Switzerland (relevant EU jurisdiction).  You will bring additional commercial legal capacity to complement our legal and contracts teams.


You will be part of the Legal team and support both Legal and business teams on a day-to-day basis.


  • Structure, review and draft complex commercial agreements, including terms of agile digital projects, development and licensing of SW solutions and products, across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support commercial negotiation for complex agreements, ensuring consistency with commercial guidelines and standard T&Cs
  • Provide first-line legal advice, analysis and support based on an understanding of commercial strategy and legal environment
  • Develop commercial strategies and propositions with business including business case input and the review and drafting of contract terms
  • Ensure responsiveness and alignment with line manager and internal business clients
  • Monitor legal risks and developments which may affect Ciklum, advising stakeholders of potential impacts and providing recommendations to mitigate and minimise future risk
  • Provide solid advice and efficient management of complaints and disputes resolution
  • Work directly with other areas of the business including sales operations, finance, marketing and procurement
  • Process contracts in internal contracting systems in close liaison with commercial departments to ensure that all contracts are recorded and accurately reflect the agreed commercial terms
  • Provide regular updates/reporting to legal and other internal stakeholders (as necessary) about the progress of contract status and key issues
  • Manage a contracts manager, including supporting with legal matters, as and when required, and be responsible for their personal development


  • Law degree from a reputable university, plus at least 4 years of transactional experience as in-house or law practitioner at digital or information technology business
  • Admitted to practice law in UK and/or other relevant EU jurisdiction
  • Strong technology and transactional experience.
  • Broad commercial legal knowledge to include different areas of law (e.g. Commercial, intellectual property, data protection)
  • Solid commercial experience and in-depth knowledge of supporting commercial negotiations
  • Experience of supporting a large multi-national business either in house or from private practice.
  • Ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations using incomplete information or differing opinions.
  • Active participation in strategy setting sessions
  • Ability to adapt and work flexibly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
