On behalf of Thomas Cook, Ciklum looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in DevOps who is passionate about using container scheduling, AWS Native services and Docker to deliver a world class cloud based continuous integration and deployment environment (CI/CD) for Thomas Cook Money. We expect the Engineer in DevOps has understanding of cloud and architecture for the cloud, as well as understanding how to best shape the cloud services that modern company requires, focusing on automation, decoupling, self-service and containerization.

Our projects tech stack is:

  • React, Node.js
  • Elm, Elixir
  • AWS


  • Build and maintain infrastructure, CI/CD tools and services to improve delivery and availability
  • Analyze existing infrastructure and pipelines, and work with squads on improving these where required
  • Work alongside Architects, Developers, System administrators and other tech leads in the company
  • Continuously improve processes and ways of working


  • 2+ years of relevant experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux-based production systems
  • 1+ years of automatically provisioning, configuring and deploying environments (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar)
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery (tools like Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodePipeline)
  • Experience with at least one virtualization/cloud technology (AWS preferable, RackSpace, Azure, etc)
  • Good knowledge of Node.js/Python/Bash/Groovy
  • Knowledge of networking and databases (provision and backup)
  • Experience and belief in Agile principles such as Lean, Kanban, Scrum
  • Ability to work effectively on several projects simultaneously


  • Commercial experience with AWS services
  • Docker experience
