About the role:

As a Head of Snowflake, become a part of a cross-functional development team working for the Ciklum Client.

This is a unique opportunity for a candidate looking to be a part of a growing business in the Product engineering industry.

The Head of Snowflake is a key leadership role who works with key internal and external stakeholders to drive how Ciklum can exploit Snowflake offerings to drive better business outcomes for our clients. As part of the Ciklum team, this role is responsible for growing and maintaining our Snowflake expertise within our Data Engineering Centre of Excellence.

This role will lead our Snowflake capability as part of the Data Engineering Centre of Excellence and will work on innovative solutions for Ciklum and its clients. Your primary focus will be Snowflake solutions and development to solve business problems in different domains.

The Head of Snowflake candidate will need to be proficient with data platform architecture, design, data curation, multi-dimensional models, objects, star and snowflake schemas as well as structures for data lakes, data science and data warehouses using Snowflake. Responsibilities will also include technical delivery review, resolution of architecture issues and for the migration of the existing on-premises application to AWS Snowflake platform.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical advice and guidance on Snowflake Services related matters to internal and external clients, bearing on the successful use of complex technologies, frameworks, products, and services
  • Create, scale and maintain a team of Snowflake experts that deliver exceptional client outcomes
  • Demonstrate expertise in Snowflake’s cloud native architecture
  • Experience in building the Snowflake SQL Data warehouse using the Virtual warehouses based on best practices
  • Solution the data loading and unloading activities to/from Snowflake
  • Implement and leverage Materialized views, Data Sharing, Clone Feature and Performed Dynamic data Masking
  • Have a solid understanding of delivery methodology(SDLC) and lead teams in the implementation of the solution according to the design/architecture
  • Hands on experience with Snow SQL, Stored Procedures, UDF’s using JavaScript, SnowPipe and other snowflake utilities
  • Experience in Data migration to snowflake cloud Data warehouse
  • Experience in data security and data access controls and design
  • Experience working with Data Lakes loading disparate data sources- Structured, semi- structured data (Flat files, XML, JSON, Parquet) and unstructured data
  • Integration of data pipelines with source control repository and build CI/CD pipeline and DevOps
  • Experience in delivering technical solutions in an iterative, agile environment (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Ability to work on innovative and new projects with a “fail-fast” approach to provide optimal solutions that bring the most value to the business
  • Passion for learning new skills and the ability to adjust priorities on multiple projects based on changing demands/needs
  • Contribute and maintain to Snowflake partnerships and alliances
  • Align internal data capabilities to the unified sales strategy within the business, identifying areas of focus and ensuring we have the necessary delivery capability
  • Support Sales and Go-To-Market teams and help customers clarify their requirements, contribute to preparing and supporting bids and sales proposals

Requirements

  • 7+ years in Engineering or Technology roles
  • Minimum 3 years in a Snowflake technical role
  • 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience;
  • Experience working with offsite and offshore technical resources
  • Experience in product ownership-like model working with multiple teams and projects
  • Solid experience designing, implementing global, multi-tenant cloud-based Snowflake Data Warehouse
  • Experience with agile project delivery
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication including superior presentation skills and proven ability to work effectively at all organizational levels
  • Experience in the delivery of large scale projects with multiple dependencies across teams
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
