As a Zoomdata team member you will face a good challenge to work with the next generation of touch based/modern browsers real-time data visualization technology for Big Data, allowing its users to analyze and make decisions based on the latest information streaming to their browsers in real time. On web browser/iPad/android device they would be able to zoom in/out, scroll and navigate thru their data in a highly interactive way. The technology is designed to pull data from various sources - social (twitter, Facebook, etc.) and big data applications (Hadoop, MongoDB, Impala, Solr).

Description

On behalf of Zoomdata Ciklum is looking for Java Back End Engineer to join Kiev team on full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain/extend/test Public REST API layer (deal with backward compatibility, deprecation, documentation)
  • Design, extract and apply best industry solutions to microservices
  • Work on efficient JPA/DAO/service layer for metadata
  • Perform load testing under different scenarios (multiple users, various service configuration, clustering)
  • Focus on quality and scalable solutions, perform system performance tests and keep up with the baseline

Requirements

  • JPA/Hibernate/EclipseLink
  • Spring framework and ecosystem
  • Experience in designing and building production java systems that handle thousands of users
  • REST API layer development and effective testing
  • Java 8, functional programming
  • Ability to work without supervision in geo distributed team
  • Good written and spoken English

Desirable

  • Microservices experience (Spring Boot based)
  • Understanding/experience in FE frameworks such as Backbone/React
  • Ability to work as a full stack developer on as needed basis is a plus
  • TDD and focus on testability
  • Gradle, Maven, CI experience (Jenkins, Bamboo)
  • Docker experience
  • Sense of humor
