Tubular Labs is at the forefront of the digital video revolution. Tubular’s products ingest information about online videos across major social platforms (Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Twitter, etc) and make this information available via an intuitive and analytically insightful single-page web application and restful API, all while aiming to provide sub-second response times.

Every day, millions of new videos are uploaded across these social platforms. The upload and consumption rates of online video are growing exponentially over time. We’re looking for top-notch engineers to help us solve some of these challenging big data problems.

Description

On behalf of Tubular Labs, Ciklum is looking for DevOps Engineer to join Kyiv team on a full-time basis.

 

At Tubular Labs you will get the Silicon Valley startup experience right here in Kyiv. You will be working at constantly growing company which takes leading positions in the measurement of Online Video Industry. By tracking metadata for more than 3 billion videos, 8M creators and their audience across top platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and others, we build unique insights which help brands, media companies, and publishers located across the world make better business decisions. You will closely collaborate with your American colleagues with frequent trips to Tubular Labs’ Silicon Valley headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Be a part of our production engineering team delivering scalable performance to our customers
  • Build the tools and scripts that help us deploy, monitor and maintain our infrastructure
  • Use code-first approach, clusters and container orchestration, service discovery in deployment pipeline
  • Push the limits of our software stack to give faster and more consistent performance
  • Oncall like any operations team is a key responsibility; as we are geo-distributed team with 10 hours difference, oncall duty is almost always daily (win!)
  • Mentor developers to build the standards by which we deliver our infrastructure
  • Code and changes review of other Production Engineer team members

Requirements

  • Strong industry experience in architecture and development of scalable production quality backend systems
  • Our Linux based infrastructure includes Python, SaltStack, Jenkins, Mesos, Consul, Kafka, Cassandra, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Spark
  • Experience running services on AWS and the cost / performance tradeoffs that can be made
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, data stores, data modeling, indexing, and associated trade-offs
  • Strong verbal and written English

  • Working well autonomously, without close supervision, readiness to take responsibility
  • Acting as a Team player and having highly developed communication skills, both toward co-programmers and project manager
  • Being committed to timely delivery of quality results
