Ciklum is looking for a Junior Java Software Engineer to join our team full-time in India.

About the role:

We are seeking a Junior Java Software Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to join a dynamic and collaborative engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across both backend and frontend technologies, contributing to the development of scalable applications in a financial services environment. You will work closely with senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience and building a solid foundation in enterprise software engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Development of backend microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
  • Contribute to frontend development using Angular (13+), HTML, CSS, and TypeScript
  • Write and optimize SQL queries against Oracle databases
  • Participate in writing unit tests and performing basic debugging and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with team members during Agile/Scrum ceremonies and support the delivery of sprint goals
  • Follow best practices in version control, code reviews, and documentation
  • Learn and grow under the guidance of experienced team members in a structured Agile environment

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in full-stack development (internships and project experience may be considered)
  • Familiarity with Java, RESTful APIs, and Oracle SQL
  • Exposure to Angular or other modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute in a team setting
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
  • Effective communication skills in English (both written and verbal)

Desirable

  • Exposure to Spring Boot, MongoDB, Redis, or GraphQL
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Awareness of SAFe Agile or other scaled agile frameworks
