About the role:

As a Middle QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript), you'll become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous quality through test management, preparation, and supervision, integrating each phase of agile development through production
  • In partnership with the QA department, design and structure the strategy to optimize the quality of our products
  • Drive improvement through idea generation, working closely with the business and engineering teams
  • Contribute to the growth of the QA team by sharing your experience and knowledge
  • Develop automated functional UI & API tests
  • Integrate automated scripts into the CI/CD process
  • Understand concepts of code reviews and know high-quality code standards
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to automate the manual test processes
  • Building and maintaining automated testing frameworks
  • Test case adjustments for automated testing needs
  • Test data and test environment preparations
  • Analyze test results and report about stability of the product under test 
  • Possibility to perform testing activities on several projects, communicate with developers and project managers

Requirements

  • Test Automation:
    • 4+ years of practical experience in designing and executing automated tests at different levels (e.g., unit testing, integration testing, system testing)
    • Knowledge of programming languages (preferably Javascript/Typescript)
    • Ability to inspect and analyze source code to identify issues (HTML/CSS)
    • Proficiency in designing and implementation automated test suites for different test types and evaluating the results effectively
    • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and documents effectively
    • Experience implementing development lifecycle processes, creating and following branching strategies, and conducting code reviews
  • Programming:
    • Possess meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
    • Understanding of UX/UI design principles
    • Experience with browser and device compatibility testing
    • Experience with implementation of core features, including advanced concepts like closures, hoisting, and prototype inheritance
    • Experience  with implementing prototypal inheritance models and ES6 classes to create and extend objects
    • Experience with automation testing patterns in test automation projects
    • Designing and developing test scripts using patterns like Page Object, Page Provider, and Builder patterns, and understanding the advantages of using these patterns in terms of code maintainability and scalability
  • Tools & technologies:
    • Experience working with at least one web automation testing framework and one backend API automation testing framework
    • Proficient in working with at least one test reporting tool and one test management tool
    • Experience working with databases in test automation projects, including designing test scripts that interact with databases and validating results using SQL or NoSQL queries
    • Familiarity with configuring CI/CD pipelines to integrate test automation scripts and troubleshoot potential issues during test execution is essential
  • SDLC:
    • Participating in all meetings according to the product methodology (such as daily meetings, planning, retrospective etc.)
    • Familiar with tasks estimation and prioritization
    • Experience with bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA)
  • Languages:
    • Ability to communicate professionally in English and Spanish

Desirable

  • Test Automation:
    • Experience implementing at least one of the following approaches in a project like TDD, BDD, ATDD
    • Proficient in creating and maintaining test artifacts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring consistency and quality
