About the role:

As a Senior Back End Developer, you'll become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. 

Responsible for maintenance and optimization of the SOA Architecture or/and Microservices on the server-side logic, with current and new database interactions with normalized fields and values. In addition to new BE integrations with API and endpoints, the overall backend infrastructure of our multiple websites and CRM. This involves bug fixing, performance tuning, security patching, database maintenance, and supporting DevOps and frontend integration. The role must follow the Business/Project goals and prioritization to ensure profitability and business growth. Focusing on complying with the agreed-upon deadlines. In addition to working in a collaborative environment with DevOps, backend, QA, UX/UI, and Product Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and implementation of Normalized Data and service APIs to support the FE maintenance and/or support on new pages, features, functionalities, tools, flows, and user journeys based on the Product team's requirements and prioritization. E.g.; translation of websites to multiple languages, new pages with flows and multiple user journeys, etc.
  • Maintain and optimize server-side code and database queries
  • Manage normalized database schemas, migrations, and data integrity
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, including application errors, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities
  • Apply security and best practices to the backend systems
  • Monitor application performance and server health
  • Collaborative attitude overall and for testing the requirements with DevOps, Backend, UX/UI, QA, and Product Team
  • Participate in code reviews and adhere to established coding standards
  • Responsible for the technical documentation for changes and new developments

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Backend Developer with +5 years in the field
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js (Express/NestJS)
  • Experience with database systems: PostgreSQL, including writing efficient queries and managing schemas
  • Solid understanding of Web/API environments: HTTP, RESTful, web services
  • Experience with version control systems, specifically Git
  • Experience with server management, deployment processes, and basic infrastructure concepts. AWS and Bitbucket
  • Understanding of web security principles (OWASP Top 10)

Desirable

  • Experience with cloud platforms e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
  • Knowledge of server monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus)
  • Experience with CMS Strapi
