About the role:
As a Senior PHP Developer, you'll become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experience of tomorrow.

Your role will involve contributing to the design, development, and architecture of services, solving complex problems, and ensuring the performance and scalability of systems. You will collaborate closely with your team, perform code reviews, and actively engage in the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy backend features while ensuring clean, scalable, and well-documented code
  • Improve system performance, scalability, and availability while diagnosing and resolving production issues
  • Contribute to tools, processes, and best practices that enhance team productivity and code quality
  • Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment
  • Lead code reviews, uphold engineering standards, and support team growth through technical interviews and mentorship

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of OOP, SOLID, and GRASP principles
  • Experience in documenting software solutions using technical documentation and diagrams
  • Familiarity with Hexagonal Architecture, DDD, TDD, and CQRS
  • 5+ years of programming experience, with at least 2 years working with PHP 7/8
  • 2+ years of experience with modern backend frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony
  • Good knowledge of the LAMP stack and Docker
  • Proficiency in source control (Git)
  • Strong understanding of RDBMS (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Experience with modern ORM systems (e.g., Doctrine, Eloquent)
  • Experience in deploying and managing applications in AWS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency with PHPUnit and testing frameworks

Desirable

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB, Elastic) and AWS services, including cloud infrastructure configuration and deployment patterns
  • Familiarity with message brokers (RabbitMQ, SQS) and API testing using Postman
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as TypeScript, Python, Ruby, and Go, along with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Strong background in software quality assurance, including PHPUnit, testing frameworks, code reviews, and quality metrics
  • Languages:
    • Fluent Spanish is required
    • English is a plus
