Ciklum is looking for a Senior Product Owner – Sportsbook Back End to join our team full-time in the Czech Republic.

About the role:

As a seasoned Product Owner to lead the development of our Sportsbook backend services, focusing on internal tools and integrations. This role is pivotal in enhancing our platform's capabilities, ensuring scalability, and delivering a seamless experience for our internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical abilities, robust product management skills, and a deep understanding of the sportsbook ecosystem. You will be central in driving complex backend projects, collaborating with UX to improve internal user journeys, and aligning cross-functional teams with a shared vision.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for backend services, aligning with business objectives and stakeholder needs
  • Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Technical Leads, and Engineering teams to develop and refine scalable, high-performance technical solutions
  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Lead agile ceremonies, ensuring smooth execution and continuous improvement of team delivery
  • Work closely with other Product Owners and designers to align product development across verticals and define optimal solutions
  • Collaborate with UX teams to support the design and optimisation of user journeys for internal users, ensuring efficient operational workflows
  • Monitor product KPIs and performance metrics, using data to inform decisions and prioritisation
  • Identify risks, manage dependencies, and proactively remove blockers across teams
  • Ensure alignment with strategic goals through ongoing communication with the Head of Product and other stakeholders

Requirements

Product Management Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in Product Management (PO, PM or BA or mix of these), preferably with backend platforms and service-oriented architectures
  • Solid technical understanding of backend systems and microservices architectures
  • Familiarity with API management, event-driven systems, and real-time data streaming
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX, engineering, QA, and architecture
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Data-driven mindset with a clear focus on outcomes and user value
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with agile methodologies and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

Sportsbook Experience:

  • Experience within the Sportsbook or broader iGaming or sports industry
  • Understanding sportsbook trading operations, feeds integration, betting logic, and internal tools/back-office processes
